ArticleCombos

Werewolf is a Mythical mutation of Tiger.

The Werewolf version reduces the user's speed and agility, exchanging it for excellent utility and offensive capabilities. This is largely due to its [Z] Finger Revolver ability, which deals spread damage, and its Blazing Form, which fully restores the user’s health upon defeating another player.

Werewolf is generally considered good for PvP because of its high damage and mobility and very spammable attacks. However, it's not recommended to use it in the First or Second Sea, as it requires high mastery and has significant knockback, which can make farming slower.

Werewolf is considered pretty good for PvP, especially after the recent buffs, even though it lacks combo potential. Werewolf is also a very good choice for Sea Events, especially Sea Beasts. Unlike Tiger, it's [Z] Finger Revolver move's entire barrage can damage them, making it deal extremely high damage.

Werewolf also possess a custom cutscene on its [C] Afterimage Assault. The move has lesser knockback, and heals 25% of the user's max Health.

Obtainment[]

Being a fruit mutation, Werewolf has a few different ways of obtainment than the ordinary Blox Fruits. Players can obtain it through:

  • Finding a physical mutated Werewolf fruit on the ground when a fruit spawns.
  • Buying it through the limited-time Halloween shop bundle.
  • Rolling it on the Halloween Gacha.
  • Trading for it, with it being a special item.

Abilities[]

Name Description Showcase
Fire Meter
The wielder has a meter which they start gaining during their transformation passively or landing Werewolf's moves. This allows the user to use [C] Afterimage Assault's held/cutscene variant at 75% Fire Meter, and their Blazing Form at 100% (Full Meter).
Lava Immunity
Once transformed, the user becomes immune to Lava puddles found on Hot and Cold and Magma Village islands, as well as in Flame and Magma raids.
Overheat
The wielder enters this state after usage of the Blazing Form, by running out of Fire Meter or by untransforming early. In this state, their transformation is completely disabled. Its duration depends on how long the user was in Blazing Form. Their speed is also reduced by roughly 30%.
Ferocious Canine
The wielder can transform into a Wolf-Human Hybrid. While in this form, they gain 33% cooldown reduction, a ~70% speed boost, a jump boost, a dash boost, and 30% damage reduction. They cannot switch to a fighting style, sword, or gun, and they cannot activate Race V4 while transformed. The wielder is incapable of going into this form whilst being Overheated.
Blazing Form
The wielder can further push past their limits by transforming a second time after their Fire Meter is maxed out. In this form, the user's moveset changes, cooldowns are reduced by 50% of base form, and all bonuses from the earlier transformation are nearly doubled. This form lasts for 60 seconds. The wielder goes into Overheat stage after running out of Fire Meter or after untransforming.

    • Good damage.
    • Lower knockback than Tiger.
    [V] Transformation
    • Decent damage.
    • Quick transformation.
    [F] Body Flicker
    • Decent mobility.
    • Decent for extending combos.
    • Lower knockback than Tiger.

    Cons (Normal)
    General
    • Not recommended for First / Early Second Sea players due to its high mastery requirements and mediocre grinding capabilities.
    • Very expensive and difficult to obtain.
    • Long cooldowns compared to other Beast-type fruits.
    • Because of its strong close-range and underground abilities, Werewolf can easily be countered by Ice because Werewolf does not replenish its health or stun ability effectively.
    • All moves can be dodged with Instinct.

It is also currently not highly recommended for Sea Events, as there is a bug where if you transform into Werewolf and then transform back to normal, you won't be able to sit on a boat, cannon or use shipwright.

    [Z] Finger Revolver
    • High knockback.
    • Hard to hit at high range.
    • Heat-seeking can be unreliable, and the final head requires aim.
    [X] Spiraling Kick
    • Quite high knockback.
    • Not difficult to avoid.
    [C] Afterimage Assault
    • The first few dashes can be dodged using Instinct.
    • The opponent can punish it if timed correctly.
    • Still has bad knockback.
    [V] Transformation
    • Does not grant i-frames while transforming.
    [F] Body Flicker
    • The range is quite low, so the move is hard to hit.
    • Takes a bit of time to fully execute after hitting an enemy, possibly leaving the user vulnerable to damage if used against a group of NPCs.
    • Camera warp can be annoying to non-shiftlock users.

    Pros (Transformed)
    General
    • Provides a small damage reduction. (Roughly 30%)
    • Gain a speed buff (~70%) and a jump buff.
    • Moves deal more damage and have lower cooldowns.
    • Easy to use.
    • Small hitbox compared to other transformations.
    • All moves can break Instinct.
    [TAP] Normal Attack
    • Fast M1.
    • Decent damage.
    • The roar has decent AoE.
    [Z] Finger Revolver
    • Very high reach.
    • Extreme damage up-close.
    [X] Spiraling Kick
    • Long range.
    • Very high speed.
    • Good combo extender/starter.
    [C] Afterimage Assault
    • Good mobility.
    • Boosts the user's speed for a while.
    • Huge damage (when held).
    • The held version has little-to-no end-lag.
    • Hitting the held version heals 25% of the player’s Health.
    • Has less knockback than Tiger held [C], making it possible to extend from.
    [F] Body Flicker
    • Good mobility.
    • Lesser knockback than Tiger, making it better for combos.

    Cons (Transformed)
    General
    • Cannot use fighting styles, swords or guns while transformed.
    • Most moves can be dodged with Instinct.
    • Not recommended for water travel while transformed, since over water its dashes become quite short, and the C move is its main source of mobility.
    • Movement speed is slower than Tiger.
    • Spammy and not many combos are possible with it.
    [TAP] Normal Attack
    • Short range, so it is not recommended to use in PvP.
    • Might be difficult to use in grinding.
    [Z] Finger Revolver
    • Mediocre damage.
    • Still hard to hit compared to Tiger [Z].
    [X] Spiraling Kick
    • Quite high knockback, making it difficult to use in combos and grinding.
    • Not difficult to avoid.
    [C] Afterimage Assault
    • The first few dashes can be dodged by Instinct.
    • The held version requires precision to hit.
    • The held version requires a huge chunk of the Fire Meter in order to execute.
    • The user doesn't gain i-frames whilst holding the move, making them vulnerable to attacks.
    [F] Body Flicker
    • Although having a longer range and hitbox, this move is still hard to hit.

    • Decent AoE.
    [F] Body Flicker
    • Decent mobility.
    • High damage.
    • Grants i-frames during the move.
    • Can bypass Ghost's Resurrection passive. (Needs testing)

    Cons (Blazing Form)
    General
    • Requires full Fire Meter in order to transform.
    • Lasts for only 60 seconds.
    • Not good for grinding due to most moves having high knockback.
    • Untransforming grants the Overheat status, lowering the user's speed and disadvantaging them mid-fight.
    • All moves can still be dodged with Instinct.
    [TAP] Normal Attack
    • Still has short range.
    • Might be difficult to use in grinding.
    [Z] Finger Revolver
    • High knockback.
    • Strange hitboxes.
    [X] Spiraling Kick
    • Poor damage.
    • High knockback, making it bad for combos and grinding.
