'''Water''' (or the '''sea''') makes up most of the three [[Locations|seas]] in ''Blox Fruits''. A [[boat]] is usually better to traverse the sea, although some fruits with [[flight]] or good mobility moves can be an alternative for travel, like [[Light]] or [[Portal]].

Another alternative is swimming. However, swimming is much slower than even the [[Dinghy]], and players will be damaged rapidly if they are a [[Blox Fruits|Blox Fruit]] user, even if their [[health]] is high. If they have good mobility or anything that gives them high speed (e.g. [[Rabbit]]) and water immunity (e.g. [[Buddha]]), it will become much faster and easier. [[Sand]] users will take twice as much damage in water compared to other Blox Fruit users, which persists if the player doesn’t have [[Shark|Shark V2]] or higher.

If the player does not have a fruit, the player will not take any damage to water. Also, if a player uses [[Shark]], their swimming speed is increased, and damage taken from water while having a fruit is drastically reduced. If the player has evolved [[Shark]] to V2 or above, they will no longer take any damage, even if they have a [[Blox Fruits|fruit]] equipped.

Another way to counter water damage is by wearing [[accessories]]. However, there is only currently one accessory that counters water damage, which is the [[Leviathan Shield]], which grants the wearer 90% resistance to water damage.

In the [[Second Sea|Second]] and [[Third Sea]], [[Sea Beasts]] will have a chance to spawn in front of players if they are traveling across the ocean using a boat, though the danger level needs to be a bit higher than 0 in the Third Sea for any [[Sea Events|sea event]]. In the Third Sea, there is a chance that [[Rumbling Waters]] may occur, which spawns three Sea Beasts at once. There is also a chance for a [[Ship Raid]] and [[Haunted Ship Raid]] to happen, in which the player can obtain a [[Blox Fruit]] by destroying the main ship.

This function is specific to the [[Third Sea]], where different [[Sea Events|sea events]] can happen in different danger levels. For example, [[Frozen Dimension]] can spawn in only Sea Danger Level 6 ('''????''').

* If the player holds the jump button while in the water, they will hop across the surface and heal any health and energy they may have lost, as they won't take damage or use energy simply by skipping across the water. However, it still takes an egregiously large amount of time to get around.
* When in combat, damaging the opponent with an attack will lead to the player claiming the bounty for any subsequent death not caused by an NPC or a player. For more information, view [[PVP mechanics]].

* While sailing in the [[First Sea]], one will find a glowing red brick identical to the classic Roblox killbrick. The brick, however, does no damage and the player can't stand on it. This brick is found in front of [[Frozen Village]], and near [[Jungle]].
* Players can get a [[title]] named "The Kraken" by dropping a [[fruit]] into the sea (only in [[Second Sea]] or [[Third Sea]]). Recommended that the player uses a low rarity [[fruit]] to obtain this.
* Water appears everywhere, even in areas such as [[Portal]]'s [[Dimensional Rift]]. There is also a glitch where if the player gets past the teleportation wall, they will fall into space and then into the water. Or simply, the player can see the water surface in [[Underwater City]].
* Enemies do not swim or take damage in water, instead, they immediately teleport back to their spawn point if they touch the water, an exception to this is [[Sea Events|sea event enemy]].
** Enemies using [[Ice]] or awakened [[Magma]] cannot walk on water, despite the player being able to do so.
** In [[Buddha]] [[Raids]], the Buddha users can walk in water for a medium distance before they get teleported back.
