The Spy is an NPC in the Third Sea that tells clues about the Leviathan for 1,500.
This is the only way to summon the Leviathan.
It costs a total of 6,000 to fully bribe the spy.
Location[]
The spy is located in Third Sea, Tiki Outpost, on the roof of the middle temple, standing near a tree.
Origin Lines[]
- So you wish to learn more about its origin..? Here's what I heard:
- Long ago, the Leviathan began as a tiny whelping born from primordial essence in a world gripped by an eternal winter.
- A millennia passed, and the 10,000-year Solstice's radiant energy warmed the planet, breaking the icy grasp of winter.
- Yet, this whelping remained in the ocean's darkest depths, honing its frosty abilities amidst other oceanic creatures.
- Now, with the Red King's release, it emerges to fulfill a chilling destiny, freezing the once-thawed oceans at the Red King's command.
Clues Lines[]
- I haven't heard a thing, mate. It's quiet as a ghost ship out there.
- Some citizens claim they heard something strange, I doubt it though..
- I heard it's been a bit chilly outside. That's a bit strange..
- It's just downright freezing outside! What's with all these ominous clouds? Something's happening..
- The Leviathan is out there! Go find it before it causes more destruction.
- I don't know anything yet.
The Leviathan is only able to be summoned if the Spy says, "The Leviathan is out there! Go find it before it causes more destruction." If the Spy says, "I don't know anything yet," it means the user are in cooldown so they must do a certain amount of sea events until it lets to bribe again (10-20 Sea Events). Every time user kill the Leviathan, this sea event count resets. Sea events must be killed for them to count towards the countdown.
The bribe can be split between multiple people, as the clue is the same for everyone, regardless of whether they have bribed or not. This means that 4 different people each bribing once would be the same as one person bribing 4 times, hence the user are able to split the bribing fee with other people.
There is a cooldown on the Clues. The bribing system is still not fully understood. People who have never bribed once are reporting that they cannot bribe him even once. People are saying bribes can "run out" after a period of time and reset (Typically 2-3 hours). If he says, "I don't know anything yet" then user must go out and do Sea Events until user can talk to the Spy NPC and bribe him again.
The Spy cooldown is not to be confused with the Leviathan cooldown. The Leviathan can spawn as long as Spy says, "The Leviathan is out there! Go find it before it causes more destruction." to one person in the exploration group.
- The user can still engage in battle with the Leviathan even if on Spy cooldown. (User cannot bribe him, but still can join the hunt with other people if the Spy has already been bribed).
Trivia[]
- Doing Sea events after Leviathan has been defeated will make the cooldown of the Spy shorter, allowing user to bribe him again.
- Multiple people can bribe and get the same message, meaning that it could save from fragments for each person.
- The part in which the Spy says "Now, with the Red King's release, it emerges to fulfill a chilling destiny, freezing the once-thawed oceans at the Red King's command", is possibly referring to the manga in which Uzoth frees King Red Head, followed by King Red Head summoning sharks and The Leviathan.
- Sometimes, even after the player fully bribes him, the Spy goes back one bribe due to an unknown glitch. This can be very costly and annoying, costing the player 7500 instead of the usual 6000 and additionally wasting time.
