Shark (formerly known as Fishman) is one of the four races that players can spawn with upon joining the game for the first time. It has a 12.5% chance to be granted when they first join.
Shark provides substantial damage reductions and the ability to swim in water without taking damage, which makes it the ultimate defense race. This race is recommended for those who are hunting for sea events for the first time without the Leviathan Shield accessory, or are bounty hunting for the first time. Shark is extremely strong against one-shot combos; however, this race's mobility and damage are lacking in comparison to other races, making it unideal for professional use.
Obtainment
The player has a 33% chance (25% if they're using Ghoul, Cyborg, or Draco) to get this race when changing their race, which they can do in 3 different ways:
- Buying a Race Reroll from the Shop for
90
- Buying a Race Reroll from tort for
3,000
- Buying a Race Reroll from certain Event NPCs, Event Shop or Death King

Notes
- The V1 extra swim speed is faster than the Dinghy, but slower than the Sloop.
- The V2 swim speed is slightly faster than the Brigade.
- The Leviathan's Armor effect will sometimes surround the user with a blue aura or a blue layer, depending on the avatar the user is using.
- The Leviathan's Armor aura/layer will get brighter when the shield bar decreases and disappear when is gone.
- Leviathan's Armor can be considered as the only defense that Gravity's upgraded [V] can't ignore, since it's more of a shield that grants the player extra HP than an actual defense buff measured in units such as percentages.
