Sea Exploration Group is a feature introduced in Update 20 that appears only when near a boat. It allows players to see how many people are on the same boat, including themselves. This feature is primarily used to determine whether there are enough players to hunt Leviathans.
Function[]
Up to now, the Sea Exploration Group operates with three main goals:
- If there are five or more people on the boat, there is a chance to appear in the Frozen Dimension. However, if there are four or fewer people, this event will never occur. (Leviathan needs at minimum five people for spawning it)
- The more players there are on the boat, the higher the chance for Sea Events to appear. Additionally, the damage from certain events increases with more players present.
- It helps a group of players off cooldown instead of one person going alone to complete it. For instance, if five players are on cooldown and piranhas spawn, a single player defeating them will count the sea event as completed for all five, as long as everyone remains within the Sea Exploration Group's range.
Tips & Tricks[]
- To reduce cooldown, players can team up with others who are also on cooldown and complete Sea Events together, take the driver's role, and let them complete the sea event. Although the driver will not receive items from the sea event due to continuous driving, they will always be counted as completing it as long as they remain on the boat.
- If the player is the driver, they should avoid moving away from players who are fighting Sea Events. This ensures that they remain counted as part of the Sea Exploration Group.

- Sea Exploration Group appears only in the Third Sea.
- The 20 required sea events for Frozen Dimension include only those that spawn enemies. Events like islands, Haunted Shipwrecks, or Rough Seas do not count.
