Recommended QuestSea Danger Level

Sea Dangers are zones found far from the main islands in Third Sea. Rocks will begin to appear and if players go far enough, they will progress into Sea Danger Levels.

List of Danger Levels[]

There are currently 7 different levels ranging from level 0 to level 6. Sea Danger Levels can be checked through the compass. As the levels progress, the chances of spawning sea events (such as Sea Beasts, Ship Raids, etc.) increase, new events start to spawn, and the difficulty of previous events become much harder.

Level 0: None[]

Compass Danger Level 0
  • A calm sea where rocks appear, with a chance of a Treasure Island spawning with gold/diamond/fragment chests.
  • There is a chance that Sharks will spawn in this danger level.
  • There is an incredibly small chance that a natural Sea Beast spawns in this danger level.

Level 1: Low[]

Compass Danger Level 1

Level 2: Medium[]

Compass Danger Level 2

Level 3: High[]

Compass Danger Level 3

Level 4: Extreme[]

Compass Danger Level 4
  • Terrorshark damage and spawn chances increase.
  • The chance of other Sea Events also increases.
  • Sometimes Haunted Ships can spawn. The spawn rate will increase.
  • Mirage Island has a higher chance of spawning in this danger level, which is the same for levels 5-6.

Level 5: Crazy[]

Compass Danger Level 5
  • Terrorshark damage and spawn chances increase.
  • Sea Events can occur more frequently.
  • More than 4 piranhas can appear. Same for level 6.
  • A lot of Sea Beasts can appear. (Around every 4-10 minutes)

Level 6: ????/Dark Sea[]

Compass Danger Level 6
  • This is the last and hardest level one can reach.
  • This level causes the player's screen to darken and distort, with a mist similar to the one in the Mirage Island, covering most of the view.
  • Sea Beasts appear overwhelmingly quickly (2-5 minutes).
  • The raid boss Terrorshark has massively increased damage.
  • Several Haunted Shipwrecks can also be found here.
  • The raid boss Leviathan can spawn in this level, through the Frozen Dimension sea event.
  • If a player sails a boat into this danger level immediately after a full moon appears, the Kitsune Island will spawn.

Tips & Tricks[]

  • Since the enemies found there get progressively more powerful each Danger Level, being Lv. 2500+ is recommended.
    • Many enemies will be hard to avoid in the air, such as the Terrorshark, who has a move that drags the player towards the water, so it is highly recommended to use the Shark race, or fruits like Buddha for water immunity.
  • It is recommended to use high-damage or tanky fruits such as awakened Magma, awakened Dough, awakened Buddha, T-Rex or Mammoth. The Shark race (or Leviathan Shield) are recommended if the player is using Mammoth or T-Rex so they do not take any sea damage.
  • It is recommended to look for Mirage Island in danger levels 4-5 and face towards the main islands, as the dark vision effect of Mirage stacks with the distorted vision of Danger Level 6, which can make it very hard to see, especially at night.

Trivia[]

  • Upon crossing Sea Danger Level 6, the sea's theme song changes from calm and adventurous to eerie and strange.
  • The Mist on Level 6 can be reduced by using the Kitsune Mask.
  • Level 6 is actually supposed to be called "The Dark Sea" as backed up by interacting with the Nerd while wearing Kitsune Mask.
  • There’s also a bug where if the player uses another accessory and then equip the Leviathan Shield or Kitsune Ribbon, they will get flung a bit. (If the player equips it while sitting in the boat, it will change the direction of their boat. For example, if the players boat is facing north and they then equip the Kitsune Mask, it can either face south or east)
  • Danger levels are a feature only found in the Third Sea and not the Second or First Sea.
