Sand allows the user to create, become, and manipulate sand. The user can create sandstorms, launch bursts of sand, and create sand traps similar to quicksand, making escape nearly impossible. However, as sand is more compact and dense when in contact with water, Sand users will receive 2x more damage when immersed in sea water than users of other fruits.
The unawakened version of Sand is not very good for PvP, but it can be decent for grinding since it is an Elemental fruit. However, the awakened version of Sand excels due to the moves’ hit-boxes, damage, speed, stun, and versatility.
Overall, Sand is great for PvP as it has massive amounts of stuns, AoE, and combo potential. It performs really good in ground PvP, and remains somewhat viable in the air.
The wielder is immune to all physical attacks (fighting style, sword, gun) from players unless the attacks are imbued with Aura. Against NPCs, this immunity applies unless they are of a higher level. This effect is only effective against non-boss enemies.
Sand Dissolve
Sand users will take twice as much damage in Water and take regular water damage with Shark V1, and none if they are a Shark V2, V3, or V4 user.

Sand is the one of the only Blox Fruits that has a passive which gives a disadvantage to the user in the game, along with Control's Area Bound (before Update 29) and Tiger's Overheat.
Awakened Sand's [F] move shares the same name as Blizzard's [F] move - Tornado Flight.
The [Z] and [X] move's (both awakened and unawakened) range increases depending on the mastery.
Sand currently has the slowest flight in the game.
