Quote 2
Item Description in Inventory

Saber is a Legendary sword.

Obtainment[]

Version 1[]

This sword can be obtained by defeating the Saber Expert, which can only be accessed by doing the Saber Puzzle.

This sword can be upgraded to Saber V2, significantly better than Saber V1.

Version 2[]

  1. Earn one million Bounty/Honor.
  2. Player must kill another player with a similar level.
    There are no mastery requirements.

A message saying "Something weird has occurred to your <Saber>." will appear if done correctly. Note that the sword's appearance will not change at all, nor will the name of the 2 moves, but the moves will appear different, be bigger and more powerful.

If the player completes all the steps but doesn't have the sword, a message saying "Something weird has happened, but you lack the required item".

Notes[]

  • As of Update 20 (or earlier), the player only needs to have 1 Million Bounty/Honor. The player they kill does not need to have 1 Million Bounty/Honor, but they need to be close to the player level.
  • The sword will NOT change to Saber V2 if the kill was a suspicious kill.
  • The player can get it in First Sea as long as long as Bounty/Honor and level requirements are met.

New deadly rush
The user charges up, dashes forward, and this time sends two air slashes flying. This move is, in theory, V1's Z combined with V1's X. There's an area where the 2 moves combine, and once the player manage to land it on the enemy, will deal extremely high damage due to it being the equivalent of 2 sword moves at once.

New triple slash
The user sends a red projectile made out of four beams in the direction of their cursor, doing more damage than its V1 counterpart and having a larger hitbox.

Overview[]

Pros (Version 1)
General
  • Obtainable as early as Lv. 200, making it a good starter weapon.
  • Good damage.
  • Decent hitbox on the attacks.
  • Good for grinding.
  • Low mastery requirements.
[Z] Deadly Rush
  • Good combo extender.
  • Has decent travel (Better than Saber V2).
[X] Triple Slash

Cons (Version 1)
General
  • Cannot hit Chop users.
  • Very slow M1.
  • Doesn't break Instinct.
  • The combo possible with the Z and X move has severe endlag.
  • Both moves doesn't have that big of a hitbox, making it easy to avoid.
  • Still a low travel potential compared to other swords such as Yama and Spikey Trident.
[Z] Deadly Rush
  • Decently hard to hit.
[X] Triple Slash
  • Unless the player have decently good aim, often either one or two of the move's slashes miss the target completely.

Pros (Version 2)
General
  • Pretty decent range on the M1 and skills.
  • Both moves drain 3 Instinct dodges from the enemy, making it possible to drain a total of 6 Instinct dodges.
  • Not too hard to obtain.
  • Easy to use.
  • Great for grinding.
  • Low mastery requirements.
[Z] Deadly Rush
  • Extremely high damage if all slashes are hit.
  • Most damaging single sword move in the game so far.
[X] Triple Slash
  • Really good AoE.

Cons (Version 2)
General
  • Like V1, Cannot hit Chop users.
  • Doesn't break Instinct.
  • The combo possible with the [Z] and [X] move still has severe endlag.
  • Lower travel potential than Saber V1.
[Z] Deadly Rush
  • Quite difficult to hit all the slashes.
[X] Triple Slash
  • Easy to avoid.

Trivia[]

  • While this sword can be great for PvP, it can only really work if the opponent is not using Instinct. As this sword doesn't have any moves that break Instinct, it's suggested to have another weapon equipped that can break Instinct easily.
  • It is recommended to bounty hunt with Ice or Dark along with this, as the player can pull enemies with Dark [X] move to the critical [Z] attack range.
  • The player should aim accurately to deal a critical hit on player's opponent (V2).
    • It is possible to do a One-shot using just Human's V3 ability along with the [Z] and [X] move, if done right.
  • Due to its incredible damage, Saber V2 is still considered to be fairly decent sword in PvP in the Second Sea. However, it is recommended that the player upgrades to a better sword as they progress out of the Second Sea and enter the Third Sea.
  • One of the best swords you can obtain in the First Sea.
  • This is one of the best swords for grinding, as its M1 deals high damage, with little to no knockback, and has a low cooldown.
  • Each [M1] attack does more than the last. (Example: 1700 base damage -> 2350 damage by the fourth swing)
  • The Saber's handguard model cuts into the hilt.
  • [Z] Deadly Rush is a good combo extender so always try to combo with that (for low level).
  • As of now, the [Z] move has been nerfed when dealing damage to Sea Beasts, so it is recommended to use Shark Anchor instead of Saber in Sea Events.
