Piranhas are capable of leaping out of the water to attack both the player's Boat and the player directly. They utilize biting and electric shocks as their primary forms of attack. When a player is hit by a Piranha, their ability to dash, jump, and use abilities is temporarily disabled. Piranhas will automatically despawn if they move too far from their original spawn point. Notably, they prioritize targeting the player over the boat and cannot be damaged using M1 attacks from fighting styles or swords.

- Elemental Reflex applies to piranhas by being a few levels higher than them, although the electric shocks can damage Elemental users.
- Piranhas are one of the fastest enemies and can outrun the fastest boats. Still, if the player uses the Miracle, it is possible not to take any damage at all, as they will be biting far back and their attacks do not reach the Miracle's hitbox.
- It is possible to avoid piranhas by continuing to go forward, as they will despawn after a few seconds, but they can still slightly damage the boat.
- Use awakened Magma or Ice with Pilot Helmet to dash away from the piranhas can be done to avoid their shocks.
- When Piranha hunting, Venom's F move is efficient for killing piranhas as its flight can deal ticking damage to them.
- Alternatively, the player can use Blizzard's V and C moves to stun them in place and kill them.
- You cannot M1 the Piranhas with fighting styles or swords as they are immune, making it almost impossible as a Buddha sword main. Skull Guitar X (El Diablo) is a good option against the piranhas, as it stuns them and leaves the player free to use other attacks, C Kitsune or V Flame.
- Defeat 30 piranhas is needed to upgrade Lightning in the Admin Panel (and 300 mastery), Lightning's [V] and [X] move are very effective against piranhas, so it is recomended use these moves.
