Description in Shop

Lightning (formerly known as Rumble) is a Legendary Elemental-type Blox Fruit that costs $ 2,100,000 or R$ 2,100 from the Blox Fruit Dealer.

Lightning grants the user the ability to control, generate, and transform into lightning. This allows them to summon thunderstorms capable of dealing massive damage to their enemies. The user can also move at lightning-fast speeds, effectively teleporting across the battlefield while shocking anyone in their path. In addition, Lightning offers a versatile moveset designed to immobilize or disrupt opponents, making it not only extremely destructive but also very challenging to counter in combat.

Lightning is known as a very versatile Blox Fruit due to its stuns, damage, combo potential, AoE and movement ability, making it excel in many of Blox Fruits's activities, most notably PvP and grinding. Lightning is also abusable to some extent, due to the moves having huge hitboxes and good stunning, most notably [V] and [C] , or having spammability (with charges), such as [Z] and [F] .

In terms of grinding, Lightning is one of the best fruits in all seas because of its Elemental Reflex, high damage, large AoE and stuns.

Orb Charge
The user has 4 electric orbs that spawn behind them. [Z] , [V] and [F] all consume an orb. Orbs take 5 seconds (3 seconds if upgraded) to recharge. [Z] and [F] cannot be used without them.

This move possesses three variations, each using a certain amount of orbs:

If tapped (Z1):

  • The user shoots one of their charged orbs toward the aimed area. Consecutive orbs deal reduced damage. This variation uses 1 orb.

If short-held (Z2):

  • Upon holding the move for at least 0.5 seconds, the user creates an electrified sphere and throws it toward the cursor, pulling enemies in before exploding. This variation uses 1 orb.

If fully held (Z3):

  • Upon holding the move for at least 1.5 seconds, the user summons an electric dragon that circles around them. After releasing the move, the user dashes with the dragon toward the cursor. This variation uses 2 orbs. Depending on the situation, one of two variations will occur:
    • If hit (upgraded): If the user comes into contact with an enemy while dashing, the user grabs them, performing a 5-strike combo before knocking them away.
    • If missed: The user launches the dragon forward, which explodes on contact, or when it reaches max distance, dealing decent damage.

The user conjures a thundercloud from the sky. Shortly after, lightning bolts start striking the ground, stunning those hit. This move has two variations that can be activated by using [Z] on the cloud:
  • Z1 (tap): Each orb extends the duration of the ability by around 5 seconds.
  • Z3 (hold): The user summons an electric dragon that bursts out from the cloud and crashes to the ground in the direction of the cursor. When used from higher altitudes, its targeting range increases.

    Cons
    General
    • Some moves have slight startup/endlag
    • Quite hard to obtain.
    • Requires moderate prediction and aim.
    • Struggles in aerial combat.
    • Some Lightning abilities are restricted by roof which is not suitable for grinding in places like Cursed Ship, and Haunted Castle.
    • Upgrades are expensive and have high mastery requirements.
    • Some moves deal damage in different ticks rather than it being dealt at once, causing them to deal inconsistent damage.
    • Can cause lag on weak or low-end devices.
    [TAP] Normal Attack
    • Short range.
    • Low damage and stun.
    • Enemies remain mobile.
    • Bad for grinding.
    • Nearly useless in PvP.
    [Z] Lightning Orb
    • Can be dodged by Instinct or dashing around.
    • Harder to hit in air.
    • Tap deals less damage with each follow up.
    • Z3 is only single-target. (upgraded version)
    [X] Thunderstorm
    • Can only be used nearby.
    • Doesn't hit enemies below low roofs.
    • Z3 variant is difficult to pull off and aim.
    • Hard to hit airborne targets(with Z3, need great aim and prediction).
    • X+Z3 is horrible for grinding and combos in pvp because of the knockback it gives.
    [C] Sky Judgement
    • Requires some prediction.
    • Can be Instinct-tricked.
    [V] Thunderball Destruction
    • Strongly relies on Orb Charges for full damage.
    • The tap version deals significantly lower damage.
    • Must be directly aimed at a player to hit in the air, otherwise, it will phase through them.
    • Unable to move for ~1.5s after using the move, making the user extremely vulnerable to attacks.
    • Insane knockback (Can be considered both pro and con)
    [F] Electric Flash
    • Short dash range.
    • No longer carries momentum.

    Notes
    • Lightning's X move "cannot" be used in any place with a roof or any kind of cover (buildings, Magma Admiral's volcano, etc). However, both X and C can still work normally if the roof is high enough (such as the roof of the Factory). X was able to be used in places with a roof before Update 20 when it was changed to act like C.

    Trivia

    • Lightning is the fourth most expensive Elemental fruit, the third being Blizzard, the second being Dough and the most expensive being Gas.
    • Lightning is easy to use on mobile due to its AoE attacks. However, [X] and [V] may cause lag, and [F] may be difficult to use.
    • Lightning is often paired with many gun and sword main builds due to its versatility.
    • Lightning battled with the Pain fruit to have an awakening in the Blox Fruits Discord server. Lightning won and then received an awakening (Pre Update 27.0).
    • The old unawakened version of Lightning is used by the Lv. 575 boss, Thunder God. He uses [Z] Rumble Dragon and [X] Sky Thunder.
    • The Elite Pirate, Urban, uses the old version of Awakened Lightning. He uses [Z] Lightning Beast, [X] Thunderstorm and [V] Thunderball Destruction.
    • The first boss to use the reworked Lightning fruit is Ashen.
    • Lightning is the only fruit that does not display a full cooldown with its move [Z] (Lightning Orb) and [F] (Electric Flash).
    • Before the release of Update 27.0, players who had Rumble fully awakened (V2) received three upgrades on the Admin Panel for free.
    • Lightning raids are the first and only raids to be removed from Blox Fruits entirely (previously the sword Pole (2nd Form) was inaccessible after the removal of Lightning raids, but now it can be obtained by getting struck by a lightning in Rough Sea while holding Pole (1st Form).)
    • Lightning has four reskin variants — Yellow, Purple, Green and Red. Each one is considered a separate fruit and has its own distinct physical appearance.
      • Upon eating any Lightning fruit skin, the user is granted the corresponding permanent CHROMATIC skin.
    • [V] is the first ever ability in Blox Fruits to have five variants; all scaled between orb usage from 0-4 orbs.
    • Charging [X] with 3-4 Z1 orbs can stun NPCs for over 10 seconds, allowing the user to use fighting style M1s on them to deal extra damage. This is good for grinding since it can easily kill a group of enemies.
    • When using [F] , a distinct 'pop' sound effect, almost like a bubble, can be heard.
    • A fully charged [V] can almost cover the entirety of the Jungle.
    • The user can eat any of the lightning skins for the final research challenge (Conductor's Resonance). They will receive the skin, and the quest will be completed.
    • The lightning ring of [V] stays in place when moving in a boat.
    • The [TAP] skill of this fruit causes great amounts of FPS lag if held for over a minute. (This can be used to badly lag servers in some cases)
    • Even after the name change most players still call it Rumble
