Behavior[]
The Leviathan does not take damage from M1 attacks (except for the M1's of Leopard, Mammoth, T-Rex, awakened Dough, and Explosive Guns) or single target attacks.
The Leviathan has 4 segments (including its main body/head) and the main body will not take any damage unless all segments have been destroyed.
Summoning[]
The Leviathan can be summoned by Frozen Watcher, located at Frozen Dimension only if the player has 5 or more people in their Sea Exploration Group (including themselves).
Drops[]
All drops are guaranteed if the player has dealt at least 10% of damage for each segment. If the player does not deal enough damage, the Leviathan and its segments will not reward the player anything.
Segments[]
- ~50,000
- 3-5 Leviathan Scales
- 1 Level
Leviathan[]
- ~250,000
- 3-5 Leviathan Scales
- 1,000
- 5 Levels
- 2,200
- Serpent Slayer Title #174
- Leviathan Heart (The player must harpoon it using the Beast Hunter boat and take it back to Tiki Outpost in order to obtain it)
Abilities[]
Name | Description | Move Notes | How To Avoid |
---|---|---|---|
The Leviathan creates 2 thin but tall tornadoes that do not deal much damage but are able to stun players. | Does not work in the air and lasts around 6.5-7 seconds. This ability has a small range but annoying stun. Sometimes 2-3 can be spawned, forcing the player to keep moving. | Using flights or moves can help the player dodge the tornadoes. | |
The Leviathan roars with a large AoE, freezing and stunning players in front of it while also knocking them back. | This move deals damage mainly by pushing into the water, so the best way is to use the Shark race to avoid this situation. | The player should not go near the head of the Leviathan. When the Leviathan roars, verify if the ice spears are going toward the player. If they are, dash to the right/left side quickly. | |
This ability will show a red area around 5 seconds before appearing. The Leviathan will swipe its tail, launching ice and knocking back players by a lot. | Being able to take advantage of the ice surface to regain Air Jump is also an effective way. | Get out of the red zone as soon as possible since this move is very deadly if it lands and gets off the ground the player is standing on. Otherwise, the player will be hit. Skycamping in the red zone won't work. | |
The Leviathan dives into the water and appears in another location near the player. | The Leviathan will completely disappear underwater for several seconds and cannot be seen or damaged with any move by the player. | This move deals no damage, but it is recommended for players to get away from the Leviathan after it dives because it can spawn near the player again, and attack the player with other abilities. |
Tips[]
- The Shark race and/or Leviathan Shield are recommended for the Leviathan due to its defense against Water damage to Blox Fruit users.
- When 5+ people are riding in one single Boat, it is recommended for all of them to stay seated, as standing for more than a certain amount of time can lead to the player falling off the boat due to certain circumstances such as Sea Events.
- In case no one has a Beast Hunter, Boats with high health should be used, not fast or fancy boats like The Sentinel or Miracle, but boats like the Lantern or Guardian is suitable for this.
- It is recommended to use Shark Anchor due to it dealing more damage to sea events.
- It is not recommended for players to fully repair their boat before spawning the Leviathan. If the ship is damaged, repair it up to 2000 health only. This ensures that the boat is confirmed to be returned to max health during the battle (The Leviathan cannot damage the boat).
- It is highly recommended that the player has 5+ players in the group for maximum success rate in killing the Leviathan.
- Players are recommended to find the boat (Beast Hunter) before finishing off the Leviathan since the Leviathan Heart only has around 1 minute lifespan and will despawn after if not harpooned.
- If players have a hard time dealing damage to the segments, it is recommended to deal at least 20,000 damage to a segment and then target another one. This should help players maximize the Leviathan Scale drops that the player can get without wasting too much time on a single segment.
- The Sea Exploration group is recommended to consist of Awakened Buddha and Awakened Magma users, with other great alternatives being Mammoth and Blizzard for maximum success rate in killing the Leviathan.
- The Sound fruit is also a good option, as most of its moves are spammable and can damage Sea Events alongside buffing allied players.
- If the player has the fruit that they chose to fight the Leviathan permanently alongside with permanent Light, they can switch to Light in order to catch up to their Sea Exploration Group in case they're lost.
- The Fighting Styles that are recommended for the Leviathan are Sharkman Karate, Death Step, Dragon Talon and Sanguine Art, as they have good AoE and ranged moves. But, if the player wants the most effective Fighting Styles, the player should choose Sanguine Art or Sharkman Karate.
- When using Buddha, equip Retribution Dash & Buddha Leap, for mobility and dodging.
- The Leviathan is immune to single-target attacks and M1, so it is recommended to use fruits that have AoE attacks, such as Mammoth, Magma, and Blizzard. If the player is using Buddha, it is recommended to use Saber V2 or Dark Blade.
- It's recommended for the driver to use the Kitsune mask so they can avoid the rocks in danger zone 6.
- When killing Terrorsharks, it's advised to keep at least one 'guard' on the boat to defend it from sharks and piranhas and repair it if damaged.
- Fully awakened Phoenix can draw Terrorsharks away from the boat very safely by transforming as soon as the Terror Shark spawns and using cremation cannon on the Terror shark then flying away from the boat. Note this only works if the other players don't attack the Terror Shark but let it be led away by the Phoenix user. Phoenix can also kill multiple Terrorsharks safely using by leading them out of the rough sea and then using the F move hover. If your exploration group has 3+ Phoenix users who all hover in the same spot this method can kill even two or three Terrorsharks very quickly with low risk of anyone dying.
- Portal V move can be useful against Terrorsharks because it can make them despawn (Terrorsharks will not despawn if all the players do not enter the rift.)
- Bounty hunters like to target groups of players who are Leviathan hunting as often they are lower level or not using their PvP builds. It's a good idea not to wait on the boat or on the dock where the boat is bought while your team gathers as it makes it too easy for bounty hunters to jump your team from above. It's better to wait in the PvP free safe zone, or if not then somewhere else where you can see incoming attackers. The top of the main building is where portal users door in so that is where most bounty hunters will be attacking from.
- Another popular tactic of bounty hunters it to chase the boat using Transformed Kitsune and then attack the Leviathan hunting group while they are at sea. This gives the Kitsune using bounty hunter a massive advantage in PvP if the Leviathan hunting payers don't have PvP builds equipped or can't PvP well at sea. If possible it's best to have one player on the boat wear pale scarf and watch Tiki Island as the boat heads out to danger zone 6 so they can warn the rest of the team of approaching bounty hunters. For the same reason it's best if at least one or more of the team keeps their PvP build equipped at least until danger zone 6. If the team are all lower level or lower bounty then it's best if all of the team keeps their PvP builds until danger zone 6.
- It's also recommended to reequip PvP builds when returning to Tiki Outpost with the Leviathan Heart and not cut too close to Hydra Island or Castle on the Sea in order to reduce the chance of being killed by bounty hunters. It's good to use a build with Buddha as it's incredible with sea events and preferably PvP.
Notes[]
- Upon entering the Frozen Dimension, the player's boat will fully recover its health back, and the Leviathan cannot deal damage to the boat.
- If the player has summoned the Leviathan, they will need to defeat at least 20 Sea Events (Piranhas/Sharks count as sea events) in order to bribe the Spy again.
- The Leviathan Heart has a lifespan of 1 minute. To obtain this drop, the player has to use the harpoon from the Beast Hunter and bring it back to the Tiki Outpost. Upon doing so, the player should see it appear in their inventory.
- The Monster Magnet is not needed to hook the Leviathan Heart.
- The Leviathan does not spawn randomly. The player needs to spawn the Frozen Dimension to spawn it.
- At least 5 people are required to be in the same Sea Exploration Group for the Frozen Watcher to open the gate.
- If the player dies before/after the Leviathan has died, the player will not get the Leviathan Heart even if the player goes back to the boat after death (sometimes it will show the player the quest after they get back to the boat (Beast Hunter), but the Leviathan Heart will not be given to the player afterwards).
- When all the Leviathan's segments have been destroyed, lightning will appear, which acts similar to Rough Sea, which makes the fight more difficult.
- The Beast Hunter is not required to spawn the Frozen Dimension, but it is required in order to obtain the Leviathan Heart.
- There is a glitch with Leopard’s [X] move which sends the Leviathan's segment outside the red zone where the player fights the Leviathan.
- There is also another glitch where the player will not be able to repair a boat after it has been used to defeat the Leviathan.
- If the player has already killed the Leviathan and other players are delivering the Leviathan Heart to Tiki Outpost, the player can actually leave the boat and do whatever they want, but they will have to catch up to the boat again and get the quest before the heart gets delivered to Tiki Outpost in order to obtain it.
