Kitsune is a Mythical Beast-type Blox Fruit that costs MoneyIcon 8,000,000 or RobuxIcon 4,000 from the Blox Fruit Dealer.

A physical Kitsune Fruit can also be obtained (at a significantly low chance) by offering Azure Embers to the Kitsune Shrine in the Third Sea.

Kitsune Fruit allows the user to transform into a Kitsune, a legendary "Fox" in Japan. In folklore, Kitsune are foxes that possess paranormal abilities. They are commonly depicted with nine tails.

As of Update 22, Kitsune Fruit is the rarest and most expensive Blox Fruit due to its strong grinding and PvP potentials. It is a good fruit for players from every sea because of its [M1] attacks. However, low level players could struggle to meet the mastery requirements in order to unlock Kitsune's moves.

Abilities[]

Name Description Showcase
Kitsune Tails
Normal
  • The user passively gains tails, as well as by dealing damage. The user can transform when the tail meter reaches maxed 3 (the meter will turn rainbow when the user has max tails). The meter will decrease if the user uses a move (including Kitsune's M1s but less of a decrease than moves). They also gain tails while dealing damage to a player/NPC.
3 Tails

Transformed
  • When first transformed the user will slowly drain one third of the tail meter (doesn't passively drain) and will slowly drain if the user takes any type of damage (including lava and water). The user won't passively gain any tail meter while transformed, the user can only increase the meter by dealing damage with Kitsune (including Kitsune's tick damage).
Tails
  • 1 Tail: No known benefits.
  • 2 Tails: The user gets a speed boost (+100% [2x]) and a dash boost and now runs on all fours. (Air jumping, dashing, and walking will also now have a unique animation)
  • 3 Tails: The user gets three glowing orbs, when using [F] move or an M1, the enemy will deal tick damage by blue flames.

Note: This passive does not increase damage

Ancient Strength
While transformed, the user gains a 20% damage reduction from all sources, improved attacks, faster speed, jump twice higher than average, and increased dash distance.
Spirit Beast of the Sea
When transformed, the user gains the ability to run on Water, but they are not able to idle on it.
Kitsune Transformed Water Walking
Kitsune Mount
When transformed, the user can be mounted by another allied player, riding their saddle.

Kitsune M1A
Kitsune M1B
The user slashes the air, creating blue flame slashes. On the fourth slash, the user swipes in a whirlwind style. And with the last slash having two variations, on the ground the user swipes downwards, leaving a faint crack for a few moments, in the air the user kicks the opponent to the ground (Both variations deal the same amount of damage). Once at 3 tails, the slashes will inflict ticking damage and the opponent will be covered in blue flame for between 4-5 seconds and the base damage will increase too. Every slash drains the Tails meter by a bit. Jumping right before the slam will make the user perform a slash instead of a slam.

Trivia[]

  • This fruit is the second fan-made fruit to be added to the game, with the first being Sound.
    • The original concept was created by @Kuzuryu_Kei (Twitter Handle), one of the winners of the first fan fruit/art contest.
  • Players can apply the giant sword bug from Buddha so that when sitting on Kitsune they can still deal M1 damage to nearby enemies.
  • When walking Kitsune, the Kitsune's animation instead of crawling on all 4 legs (requires 2 or more tails), it will stand up and look a bit slower.
  • This is currently the most expensive fruit in the game.
  • Kitsune's [F] move, Wild Assault, was called "Swift Assault" when it was first shown in the sneak peek.
  • Kitsune is the only Beast fruit that allows allied players to mount, or mount at all.
  • Strangely, upon heavy use of the Kitsune fruit, Swords, Guns and Fighting Styles lose their models and [M1] attacks (Likely when 2 tails are reached).
  • Kitsune and Rocket are the only fruits that can be physically obtained through Wenlock (for Rocket) and Kitsune Shrine, apart from the Blox Fruit Gacha.
  • If the user pairs this with Rabbit and Pilot Helmet, Hunter Cape or Shark Tooth Necklace, they can travel very fast. Speed can surpass even Light's [F] move or The Sentinel.
    • Sometimes it can help the user outrun from auto-bounty exploiters, or sometimes it can't if the exploiter is fast enough and has extremely higher bounty/honor compared to the user.
  • If the user has a Health boosting accessory equipped, transform, and then unequip it, they will lose Tail meter as if they had taken damage. The user can repeatedly equip and unequip a health boosting accessory to keep depleting their Tail meter.
  • There is a bug right now where if the meter is at 3 Tails and switch to any fruit with a Fury Meter, the rainbow effects retain. Sometimes the user will even see "1 Tail" instead of "Fury Meter."
  • If the user is laggy enough, the transformed [X] move of Kitsune can launch them absurdly high into the air.
  • Currently, there is a serious bug in which, if a player uses Portal [Z] on a transformed Kitsune user that is being ridden, the rider of the transformed Kitsune user will die. Regardless of whether the rider is allied with the Portal user or not, they will die and the Portal user will receive Bounty/Honor from them.
  • If the player is riding on a transformed Kitsune user's back, they can teleport to places they don't have unlocked as long as the Kitsune does, similar to Love's [F] move.
