Saber Puzzle

This is a guide page that explains how to solve the puzzle needed to obtain the Saber. To begin the puzzle, the player must be Lv. 200+. If the player isn't Lv. 200 or higher, the final step of the puzzle cannot be completed.

Step 1

The first step of the puzzle is activating all the green buttons in the two parts of the Jungle.

This button is located at the bottom left of a bush behind a stone ruin.
This button is located to the north-east of where you set your spawn point at the jungle. It is on a tree, towards the side that is facing the Middle Town.
This button is located on the stone building, next to the Blox Fruits Dealer Cousin.
This button is located on the island where Gorillas spawn, next to a Gorilla, facing away from the Gorilla King.
This button is located on the island where Gorillas spawn, on the stone "beach" next to the makeshift dock.
Alternatively, here is every button marked out on a map.

If the buttons are dark green, it means you have already pressed them previously. Do not mistake it as a glitch or bug.

After activating all five green tiles, go to the quest giver NPC house in the middle of the island above the lake and walk down the stairs. Inside, you will see a hole in the floor (there will be nothing if you did not press all 5 buttons), down the hole, you will see a poem on the wall with the Torch on the side.

The poem reads: 'Lands of sand, my home does stand. Now dark and grim, bring light within.' It means: 'In the desert, is where my home lies. It is dark inside, bring light into it.' Grab the torch and go to Desert Island.

Step 2

Once you reach the Desert, look for a collapsed house with a red door (that's the home mentioned in the poem). Enter through the door and you will see a curtain. Equip your torch and stand still next to the brown curtain. It will burn it down and open to reveal a secret room.

Inside, you will see a wall with another poem and the Cup at the side. The poem reads, "If power you seek, fill the cup from a leak. Left alone in the cold, is a story to be told."

It means: "If you want power, fill the cup with water dripping from a leak. Someone left alone in the frozen village, is a story that is going to unfold."

Grab the cup, then head to Frozen Village (you can click or stand on the cup to equip)

Step 3

Once you arrive at the Frozen Village, enter the cave in which you find the Ability Teacher (see image to right) In there, you will find an ice stalactite with drops of water falling down to the ground. Stand underneath it with the Cup in your hand. It only needs one drop to fill the cup (Note: Without the cup, you will not see the icicle dripping).

Once the cup is filled, exit the cave and go to the top side of the village. In there, enter the house near the Sword Dealer of the East (see image to the left), and you will find the Sick Man inside. Talk to him, select "Help", and the dialogue "Thank you so much! Please meet up with my son, I'm sure he will reward you." will trigger. After being thanked, go to Pirate Village.

Step 4

Proceed to the Pirate Village. Once you reach there, find the Rich Man and talk to him. The dialogue "Thanks for helping my father, but a mob leader has stolen all my money! Please find and take him down as soon possible so I can reward you..." will trigger, and you'll be tasked with killing the Mob Leader.

He can be found at Jean Luc island (a secret island) which is to approximately southwest of the Pirate Village (In the direction of Magma Village, if you can see Marine Fortress you can see it)

Once you defeat him, go back and talk to the Rich Man. He will say: "Thank you for getting my money back, you can keep this ancient relic as your reward."

Step 5

The Ancient Relic being held by a player

You will now have the Ancient Relic in your item slot. Go back to the Jungle and prepare for the final battle. Find the stone building where Blox Fruits Gacha is located. Beside the stairs, you will see a relic-shaped hole in the wall. Just equip your ancient relic received from the Rich Man and plug it in, a door will open and Saber Expert will be inside (If he is not inside, someone probably killed him already. Wait for a few minutes. He respawns every 30 minutes. If this does not work after a little bit, try server-hopping via the built in "Servers" button.).

He is Level 200 and is quite a hard boss if you are Level 200. A strategy to fight him is by staying outside of the room which he spawns him because he cannot exit the room, and attacking him through the invisible barrier which he cannot pass through. However, be sure to pause every few attacks to avoid the red slashes. You can also use ranged attacks at the same time. You will need to deal at least 10% damage and after you kill him, he will drop a Legendary sword, Saber, and you will unlock the ability to buy Instinct from Instinct Teacher for 750,000 if you are Level 300 or higher.

You need to be at least level 200 to fight him or else you will get a message saying "The entrance rejects you. You're not ready yet." Don't worry if you die with the Relic in your inventory, as you can keep getting the Relic from the Rich Man, even if you leave the server.

You can rejoin anytime without already killing the Saber Expert, the door will still be unlocked without needing the Relic.

Trivia

• This is the first puzzle featured in the game and also features the first guaranteed item drop from a boss.
• This quest involves the most NPC interactions out of any other quest in the game.
  • It also involves the most islands out all quests, and the most Items.
• After you complete the Rich Man's quest, it saves but you have to get the Relic every time you join a new server.
• The cup in the puzzle uses the same model as God's Chalice, a Third Sea item.
• As soon as you turn Level 200, you should start the quest immediately for the Saber sword since it’s a good sword for beginners.
• You CAN'T do the Flash Step glitch to kill the boss. The boss can hurt you but you cannot hurt the boss.
