Enemies (better known as hostile entities) can be found clustered together in certain areas, attacking the player when provoked. Defeating them is required for completing most quests, and by extension, for grinding. Enemies are also sometimes referred to as NPCs, although both terms have different definitions. Some enemies utilize Aura, along Blox Fruits, Fighting Styles, Swords, or Guns. They may use the moves of these weapons, or just the [M1] attacks. Most of enemies drop Money or Materials, while a few drop Fragments.
Types of Enemies[]
Normal[]
These enemies can be found on most Islands, located near a Quest Giver, and are usually in small groups of two or three. When defeated, they drop Money and EXP, although the amount of EXP gained from the enemy itself is usually very small compared to the amount gained from their Quest.
Players with Elemental Blox Fruits have immunity to all attacks from certain enemies after reaching a certain level. However, this immunity does not work if the enemy has Aura. The same goes for Chop users, but only for enemies with Swords.
These enemies chase and attack the player either when the player gets close enough, or when they are hit with any attack, no matter how minor. It should be noted that they will stop chasing a player who got too close when they exit the area, but they will pursue players who attacked until, they will stop chasing after about a while has passed, or if the player goes too far.
Bosses[]
Bosses can be found on certain islands, usually larger ones. They usually spawn on special areas, for example Bobby, who spawns on a balcony on the biggest house in Pirate Village. They have much more health and more dangerous attacks compared to normal enemies and have greater rewards. However, they take a very long time to respawn and may require certain conditions to be met in order to access their area. All bosses bypass immunities such as elemental's and Chop's.
Most of these enemies drop either Accessories or Swords, although a few drop Guns and Materials as well. These drop at either a certain, undefined chance, or are guaranteed.

Trivia[]
- Enemies are the main source of money, mostly from quests.
- Many people often think that grinding Bosses will help players receive more Mastery. In fact, this is completely wrong. Players constantly jumping servers to grinding Bosses is slower than grinding enemies, so grinding is still the most effective and optimal method when needing a lot of Mastery.
- Most enemies in Third Sea use Aura which disables Elemental fruits passive ability.
- There are currently 108 enemies in the game.
