Despite being an 'upgrade' to Katana, there is almost no difference in use whatsoever.

The Dual Katana can be purchased for 12,000 from the Sword Dealer of the West.

Pros
General Good option for beginners. Low cooldowns, price, and mastery requirements. Good for training Aura because of the low damage. Both moves have AoE.
[Z] Whirlwind Has a decent hitbox, which makes it a good single-target move. Decent stun. Low knockback, making it a reliable source of damage whilst grinding.
[X] Tornado Decent AoE. Good combo potential.

Cons
General Cannot hit Blade users. Does not break Instinct. Low damage. The cooldowns are very long for such a weak weapon, making it very ineffective, especially at such a low point in the game. For its stage in the game, the Dual Katana's upgrade cost is exorbitant due to the requirement of Angel Wings, a material that can only be dropped by enemies in Upper Skylands, which are level 450+.
[Z] Whirlwind Bad range. Hard to hit if PvP in air or far-range PvP.
[X] Tornado Limited range, making it less effective for engaging distant enemies. Holds the player in place, making it not very effective during PvP.

The Dual Katana is often preferred over the Iron Mace because of its wider area of effect and having no insane knockback at the 3rd click, making it more effective against multiple enemies.
