The Blue Gear is a key part that is required to unlock Race Awakening.

Appearance

The Blue Gear is a glowing light blue cog.

Obtainment

The Blue Gear can be obtained by finding and touching it on a Mirage Island during the night. The player has to physically run over Blue Gear to obtain it.

To be able to obtain the Blue Gear, the player needs:

• Access to the Third Sea
• Completed the Sealed King Quest
• Defeated rip_indra True Form
• Mirror Fractal
• Race V3

Upon obtainment, a message, saying: "You found a weird artifact..." "You heard a distant chiming from the direction of the <Temple of Time>." will appear.

Locations

The picture to the right shows some of the possible locations of Blue Gear on Mirage Island. Since there are likely more spots than these, an easier way of searching is to get a slow-medium paced flight such as Awakened Magma's [F] Beast Ride or Love's [F] Flamingo Ride to look for the Blue Gear outside of Mirage Island, where there is no fog.

Notes/Tips

• Blue Gear spawns in the same location for everyone. This is extremely convenient if the player has a team, which means if one person finds it, they can call the other players at their location, and thus everyone can get it.
• Since Update 20, Blue Gear will not lose its shine if fast mode is activated. It will just emit less light.
• The player should not forget to resonate their Mirror Fractal with the moon, or the Blue Gear will not spawn.
• If the person who spawned Mirage Island leaves the server, Mirage Island will despawn, even if there are still people on it.
• It is recommended for the player to equip Pale Scarf, because if a person finds Blue Gear, they can easily see them with Instinct.
• The player should try to turn PvP off before heading to Mirage Island, because if they die, they will not respawn on Mirage Island.
• Once the player has obtained Blue Gear, it will save even after changing their Race and they will not need to get it again for each race.
• If the player's Mirror Fractal resonates right before morning arrives, they will not be able to make it resonate again and find the Blue Gear the next night as long as they are on the same island.
• The player's Mirror Fractal can no longer resonate with the moon after they have obtained Blue Gear. Because of this, they can no longer see the Blue Gear if they have already obtained it.
• If the player is on Mirage Island, using Skull Guitar's [M1] attacks will add lighting around any object it collides with, which is very useful in Sea Danger Level 6 if it spawned there, or at night.
• If the player uses awakened Buddha's transformation ability and goes into first-person, it will light up their screen, enabling better nighttime vision, especially in Sea Danger Level 6.
• It is recommended to start looking for the Mirage Island during the middle of daytime.
• When the Mirror Fractal resonates with the moon, it is recommended that the player uses an accessory: that increases speed to improve mobility around the island. (This includes accessories: like: Pilot Helmet, Hunter Cape (Red, Green or Black) or Dino Hood.
• The player is recommended to have a team to help them find the Blue Gear, as everyone can get it and the Blue Gear will spawn in the same location for everyone.
• It is not recommended to spawn Mirage Island in Sea Danger Level 6 because of the decreased visibility.
• The player no longer needs a Full Moon for their Mirror Fractal to resonate with the moon and start the Blue Gear quest.

Trivia

• The player cannot resonate with the moon if they haven’t completed the Sealed King quest, which is the second step to obtaining Race Awakening.
• The Blue Gear is the only item that cannot be held.
• Mirage Island will despawn after 15 minutes of being there, resulting in the Blue Gear despawning as well.
• The Blue Gear will despawn at the start of daytime, but this doesn’t mean that Mirage Island will despawn at the same time.
