Grants the user a body of blades, offering immunity to sword attacks and sharp striking abilities.
Description in Shop

Blade (formerly known as Chop) is a Common Natural-type Blox Fruit that costs $ 30,000 or R$ 100 from the Blox Fruit Dealer.

Blade grants the user razor-sharp blades that can be attached to their limbs, allowing the user to parry incoming sword-based attacks with their arm blades, even if the enemy has Aura activated, while also use the blades to slash at the opponents with various attacks, ranging from spinning attacks utilizing blades on their arms, to achieving flight by rotating a singular blade. This makes Blade a rather powerful and dangerous fruit, being able to cause serious cuts and gashes to unfortunate enemies.

Blade is powerful for PvP, due to its stuns, instinct-breaking moves, good damage and mobility, but most importantly its ability to make the user completely immune to all types of sword attacks. Because of this, Blade is very effective against sword mains, such as Portal, Ice and Buddha users. Blade is also powerful for combos, as most moves cast quite quickly and the stuns are difficult to instinct-trick, thus being able to support various builds.

Blade is a good choice for grinding in all seas, especially for beginners due to the ranged M1s similar to T-Rex, Gas, and Kitsune. Unlike the fruits mentioned above, the M1s do not cause the user to dash, allowing the user to move freely horizontally, but using an M1 in the air will cause the user to freeze vertically. Blade has good AoE attacks, decent damage, long stuns, making Blade excellent for various activities such as carrying Raids, Sea Events and clearing large groups of enemies. Due to its overall low price, being very common, and having a high chance of being in stock, it is widely considered one of the best fruits for grinding in the First Sea, while not being so good in later seas, due to the generally low damage and small range.

Abilities[]

Name Description Showcase
Blade Reflex
When attacked by Swords, the user will swiftly pull out a blade to block the attack. Blade users will be completely immune to all swords, including ones with Aura.
  • If an NPC is lower level than the user (If the user is 105%-106% the NPC's level) and uses Sword attacks, it functions similar to an Elemental fruit. Unlike Elemental fruits, the immunity applies even when the attacks are Aura imbued. This is also applied to other players (no need to be lower level).
  • Exception: Bosses and Raid Bosses.

Overview[]

Pros
General
  • Blade's passive ability grants immunity to all attacks from swords, including attacks from all players and enemies with Aura as long as the user is ~104% of the enemy's level, similar to Elemental effects.
  • Low mastery requirements.
  • Can be an alternative to Light or Ice in the First Sea, because the M1s attack range is quite good, not too close like Light or Ice's M1.
  • Very cheap and easy to get.
  • Powerful for PvP.
  • Good stuns.
  • All attacks Breaks Instinct.
  • Good for Sea Events and Raids.
[TAP] Normal Attack
  • Easy to aim.
  • When using this in the air, the player can float for a short time.
  • Great way to hit enemies as it is a ranged attack.
  • Can hit Sea Beasts.
[Z] Razor Cyclone
  • Good range.
  • Can be used to move.
  • Great mobility.
[X] Blade Dance
  • Large AoE.
  • High Stun
[C] Saw Shredder
  • Could be used for transportation.
  • Decent range.
  • Great damage.
[F] Turbine Flight
  • Useful for transportation in the First Sea and is faster than running.

Cons
General
  • Most of the abilities do terrible damage as most of it is transferred to the last tick of the abilities.
  • Ice Trident and Light Spear still can damage Blade users.
  • Not a lot of range.
  • Only has 4 moves instead of the standard 5 moves.
[TAP] Normal Attack
  • Small range.
  • Very low damage.
  • Cannot aim at enemies above or below.
    • Attempting to attack enemies below will causes the user to float in the air, preventing them from hitting the enemy.
    • Attempting to attack enemies above is nearly impossible, as Blade's M1 cannot be aimed upward.
[Z] Razor Cyclone
  • Requires aim.
[X] Blade Dance
  • Easily predictable.
  • Hard to hit if the enemy is in the air.
[C] Saw Shredder
[F] Turbine Flight
  • Very slow.

Trivia[]

  • Although Blade's passive function is to avoid damage from sword slashes, Blade can also automatically parry swords that can create fire, freeze, cause electric shock, and even magic damage.
  • Blade is mostly known for its sword immunity.
  • It is recommended to become a fruit main instead of a sword main when using Blade in the first sea.
  • Most attacks look weird with R15 and layered clothing since the user's body stretches and does not disconnect.
  • Blade is a very good replacement for elemental fruits to use at a low level since most enemies use swords in the First Sea, although it gets bad quickly, getting outclassed in every way by higher rarity fruits because of its lack of abilities, and the fact that later NPCs (Second Sea and Third Sea) more commonly use Fighting Styles.
  • Blade is currently the only Common fruit to have an M1 attack.
    • Blade is also the cheapest fruit to have an M1 attack.
  • Blade is useful for PvP due to most bounty hunters being sword mains and unable to damage Blade users.
  • When spamming the M1 move really fast on air while holding the forward button, the user will be able to glide. The speed of the glide is based on the speed on land.
  • Blade's M1 can hit sea events like sea beasts, although it's not recommended to use it for sea events due to its bad overall moveset against sea events.
  • Due to Blade's fast M1s, passives and how easy it is to obtain, Blade can be considered one of the best early-game grinding fruits for First Sea players.
  • A small change to Blade is that now Blade deflects attacks instead of its past version (Chop) which separated the limbs of the user to dodge the sword.
  • [F] Turbine Flight is faster when the user's health is lower, similar to Venom's F move.
  • If the user sets an auto clicker to zero milliseconds, they can glide in the air with Blade's M1's.
  • Blade's current icon depicts multiple, purple, circular buzzsaws. This is shown in the rotating of blades in most attacks excluding the M1s, showing that Blade is more towards circular cuts than just plain slashing.
  • Blade is one of the best fruits for early level grinding because of the sword immunity.
  • Chef uses the abilities of Blade.
